Exclusive Sales and Marketing Agreement Signed with Samsung Corporation
Novatron's innovative technology provides protection against SARS, H1N1, Bird Flu and other Biohazards
Novatron, Inc. announced today the signing of an exclusive sales and marketing agreement with Samsung S1 Corporation, a division of Samsung Corporation. A Memorandum of Understanding between the companies provides Samsung S1 the exclusive right to sell and market Novatron’s BioProtector air sterilization equipment in South Korea and to other Samsung companies and affiliates worldwide. Samsung S1 is responsible for marketing security technologies.
The Novatron BioProtector systems use an Advanced UV Sterilization (AUVS) technology that rapidly and effectively kills airborne bacteria, viruses and mold. The BioProtectors’s AUVS technology
produces much higher UV intensity than conventional UV germicidal systems, resulting in far greater air sterilization effects.
BioProtector systems can be installed in building heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems or manufacturing air supply systems to sterilize air. The AUVS technology provides a means of increasing the UV intensity produced by UV lamps by a large factor to achieve very high sterilization levels in air. Applications include sterilizing air in pharmaceutical, medical and food manufacturing facilities, as well as, in hospital surgery, critical care and isolation rooms. The technology was developed under the sponsorship of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and with financial assistance from the Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) in San Diego.
The technology can also be used to protect personnel in military, government and civilian facilities against airborne biological threats. BioProtector equipment has been installed in the Pentagon in Washington, DC as part of the Pentagon Shield II Exercise.
